Warriors Don't Cry and African American Research

Hi All,

We continue our good work in Cultural Studies. We are moving from The Constitution to a chronological look at key events that have impacted the African American experience in our country, from Dred Scott decision to the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Acts of the mid-1960s. Students are researching and explaining the WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY, and HOW of their topic/event/person, and using the Facing History and Ourselves Cycle of History to analyze the causality of what led to, and resulted from, this topic. We all continue our work in our Warriors Don't Cry literature circles. We have taken a break from lit circles this week, but will be doing our fifth circle on pages 141-182 next week. See specific dates below for the 7th and 8th grade dates.
